QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS BY WIRELESS WOMAN

Question: My partner and I are starting a small fishing fleet of three boats to operate in the Gulf of Mexico. Being able to communicate between vessels and with the shore is a prime concern of ours. We hear that the Icom two way radio is hands down the best product to be using in our new venture. Do you agree?

Answer: You heard right! The Icom two way radio is designed for use around water, is a proven winner, and always has been. I would not think of using any other brand for marine applications. Icom equipment consists of ship-to-shore, long-range, and sideband transceivers for worldwide capability from shipboard operations, plus an assortment of short-range VHF gear.

This Icom two way radio for marine use is a highly advanced product, is very compact, and is a handheld design that has been engineered specifically for communications on vessels and ship-to-shore applications. Icom has won numerous awards from the marine dealers’ independent dealer association—NMEA—for its handheld technology and quality.

Just as a note of reference for you and your partner, the Icom two way radio also floats. If you accidently drop it into the water, it pops back up to the surface immediately, making it very easy to retrieve. Since the unit has a rugged submersible body, it will also continue working once you have recovered it.
